Solicitor not communicating with mortgage advisor

Hi,
We are in the process of buying our first home (Scotland). We have been approved for a mortgage with Clydesdale and we have sent all our paperwork to the solicitor. The only thing we are waiting for is confirmation of our mortgage offer to be sent to the solicitor by Clydesdale. We are told this is in the final stages. Our move in date is 14th September.
The only issue is that our solicitor keeps chasing myself for this and despite repeatedly asking him to contact our mortgage advisor directly, he hasn't and keeps coming back to me to ask for her to phone him. Is this how it should be? I am tired of responding to his emails when he has the details of our mortgage advisor and I've asked him several times to contact her directly.
Any advice appreciated.

If you want this done quickly, the best thing to do is to do what he has asked you to do. You could have done it in the time it took you to writie your post!
Whether he should be asking you will depend on the scope of work you have agreed with him. if its a cheap firm doing a fixed fee job then you won't get as good service and they will do the minimum they can - they see their job as doing the legal work for you but principally your lender, not chasing other people to do their job.
Can you not just chase your broker. You care more about your deal than he will.0 -
At least he's chasing someone on your file and isn't snowed under with other work. Probably not worthwhile "chasing" anyway though as I expect it'll just take as long as the Clydesdale want to take.0

I don't even understand why your broker needs to talk to the solicitor. Surely the solicitor just needs to speak to the lender now? The broker's done his job, and pointed you to the best lender for your needs. Your application with the lender is progressing (or should be), so what benefit is there in playing Chinese Whispers with another link?
It's entirely likely - and sensible - that the solicitor's information security policy means they can't and won't talk directly about you to your broker, only to the lender.0 -

A solicitor phoning me asking me the whereabouts/timescale of/to a mortgage offer isn't going to make it appear any faster.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser Code of Conduct. It's not a broker it's directly with Clydesdale. I have been forwarding responses between them but I'm annoyed they can't just speak to each other0

So who's this "advisor"? Somebody at Clydesdale?0

You get update on your mortgage application.....you pass info on to solicitor. I have never had a mortgage person/broker speak to my solicitor directly for an update.0
