Got a Amazon Fire stick in my bedroom and is good for iPlayer, Netflix, Amazon Prime videos and videos bought through Amazon.

I want for my a office a stick to watch sport like Wimbledon on iPlayer but most importantly Ive also got a ton of Google Play films and even more films on Flixter which I don't believe you can watch on Amazon Firesticks.
I bought a Chromecast and tbh I don't really like the fact you have to use your phone and first watch was some buffeting.

Wondering on what the best options are? Roku, persevere with Chromecast, other device or can you watch Flixter & Google Movies on a Firestick?

Thank you!

One option would be to use a media centre app (Plex comes to mind, others may be available) with built-in cast capabilities. That way you can persevere with Chromecast but without the buffering.

    For example ...

    1. Install Plex Media Server on your PC (i.e. where the videos are)
    2. Install Plex Player on your phone
    3. Play a movie and cast it

That's just off the top of my head. Others may be along shortly with other ideas.

Iv just bought a load of Intel Compute sticks .

Basically a windows 10 PC on a devcice the size of a firestick, just plugs into a HDMI socket on a TV

Absolutely brilliant - although may be a bit expensive for your specific basic requirements

This is what I do, but instead use a program called Serviio as my Panasonic TV doesn't support Plex (Serviio functions as a basic DLNA server my TV can connect to). If you are streaming from online sources, unless you lower the resolution or have a stupidly fast internet connection, then I would almost always expect at least some buffering at the start.

There's always the option to hack the Fire stick and upload custom firmware to enable it to play your Google stuff, but I don't really have any experience in that regard
