PPI Advice Please

Hi All
I have received emails and text messages from a company called Claim Hunters saying they were looking into ppi for me but I didn't want them to and so just deleted all emails and texts.
This week I received a letter from Lloyds saying that they owed me £8,809 in ppi (nice) however I've not received this yet, today I received a letter from Claim Hunters saying congratulations and now I owe them £3000. I rang Claim Hunters and said that I did not understand I have never asked them to work for me they said that I filled a survey out online and ticked that I might have ppi and also within this this was a button that I clicked apparently providing them with my electronic signature.
Where do I stand, do I have to pay any help would be greatly accepted here.
Thanks
Julie

Ask them for evidence of the contract you signed.

Did you fill out any such 'survey'?
  • Hi
    Thanks for replies
I did used to do surveys but I am sure I would not click something so important as I normally go through them and tick no thanks all the way through
I have asked them to send me proof and have said that if they can provide this I will pay obviously even though it is so frustrating. I have struggled with debt for the past 15 years and have finally got myself almost sorted would be lovely to have some spare money for a change.

Obviously time for you to realise that such "surveys" have the potential to seriously cost you money and are best avoided completely.

    Sorry for your loss.
  • Do you think I will have to pay then as all the way through this I was unaware that anyone was working for me they wont have a wet signature does that not matter

    Interesting choice of phrase there.

Why not involve the Legal Ombudsman?
