Of course you will need to pay them. You will still be using the services so they won't be free. Even when you don't use some utilities there[STRIKE] will[/STRIKE] may be a standing charge as there is a cost associated with having things like electricity ready to use when you need it.
You might get a discount on the council tax but you might also be made pay more you will need to check your councils policy.

Just because something is a common saying / maxim, doesn't make it reasonable. Otherwise we could fill these boards up with "I don't feel like paying my mortgage this month because the lender changed their logo colour, can I stop paying?" etc etc.0 -
But the point stand - who did you think would pay??Sareteegee wrote: »FYI, comments like this just make people feel stupid and embarrassed about asking a question in the first place. The real shame is either making absolutely no attempt to find out the answer yourself, or being too stupid to understand that answer.0 -
Think you all need to educate yourselves on the etiquette section of the forum.

I suppose you could cut the gas and electric off if you're not living there. Then you wouldn't have to pay. Dunno if you can do that with water? And council tax will depend on the council.0
