Galaxy Note 4 dead after 3 years

Bought from Mobiles.co.uk. Carphone Warehouse said yesterday it's probably a common motherboard fault.
What are the reasonable resolution expectations with either Samsung or Mobiles given that it's out of warranty?
Carphone offered £210 off a Note 9 upgrade but I'm unlikely to want to pay £1100 for a phone that will die in 3 years time
Cheers!

You have no Samsung warranty as that is two years .
Your Consumer Rights are against the vendor .
They will more than likely ask you to prove via an engineers report .0 -

Thanks JJ
I rang mobiles.co.uk and they just said it was out of warranty and didn't offer anything, unlike Carphone Warehouse.
What are my consumer rights, exactly? European expectations of a minimum of 5 years use?
I could go to Samsung and get a quote for repair and then go back to Mobiles and ask for a replacement?
Best

>European expectations of a minimum of 5 years use?
No that's not true.
>I could go to Samsung and get a quote for repair and then go back to Mobiles and ask for a replacement?
The vendor is under no obligation to refund or repair if the fault is damage etc.
The claim that it is the motherboard could be user damage/ water etc.

Oh...ok, does any of that apply in this case. Fit for purpose, reasonable length of time and can they wriggle out of it anyway?0 -
Yes that could apply but its up to you to prove the above is true. That would be via an independent engineers report .0

Mind you, the motherboard thing was Carphone Warehouse’s words not mine but may be the case now or at least the underlying problem.
When I got back into the phone in recovery mode there was a Google Play download of 4.67 Gb, which seems to me to be a system update of some sort. My previous Galaxy note died after a system update but I’d had that for 5 years.
The Note 4 died completely after the recovery process.
Still, I guess you’ll say it still needs an independent report?0
