Halifax website broken?

Here's one that has always bugged me - is the Halifax website broken? All other LBG sites display fine for me, but across a range of devices and networks, I've never been able to get the Halifax site to display properly. The fonts all seem to be messed up, and little boxes (with an 'X' inside them) display where presumably there should be icons. On Google Chrome mostly.

Is it just me? Or am I going mad?

Apologies if this should be somewhere else - new here!

Halifax uses some custom fonts in a few non essential areas such as those buttons. Your browser must be configured in a way to ignore applying custom fonts even if they are installed or at the least to not download new ones if you don't already have them. I use Firefox too and have same issue with Halifax but I prefer this inconvenience over the disadvantages of custom fonts.

Custom fonts do my head in (waste of bandwidth), the stupid flash like carousel ads plastered over most banking websites further does my head in, especially as I do most of my online banking on a dedicated virtual machine which I sometimes log into remotely*. The stupid animated graphics kill the performance on remote connections.
