Debt relief orders

Hi I had a debt relief order granted in February 2017 but I recently checked my credit file and two of my creditor's are still saying I'm in default all the other creditor's have marked my account as settled should they not have done the same

    Now your DRO is successfuly completed, and you have been discharged, this is the time to go checking through your credit files.

    All accounts should show a zero balance, and be marked as settled or closed.

    If any are not showing this, write and complain to the company concerned.
    Not all creditors are au faut with the rules regarding insolvency, the default date should be the date of your insolvency or earlier.

    A default should be registered no later than the date of the DRO. It may appear that a creditor is defaulting you every month but it's actually just that they can show the default marker until 6 years from when they first registered it, at which point the debt and default will be removed.


    Your credit file should also reflect that you no longer owe anything. They may mark it as partially settled or partially satisfied, and it should show a zero balance, as per the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
