I’ve got an old Belfast sink full of Chinese lanterns, which have grown well in there for over 15 years.

Noticed today that a 25cm field maple has sneaked in! When is the best time to transplant it?

N.B no field maples around here but I’ve had other strange trees appear in the garden, from Schumach (spelling?) to holly, willow and sycamore.

November would be best , but field maple are extremely tough, so it probably won't care if you do it earlier in the autumn.
