Offer made: when do I need to follow up?

Hi everyone,

I made an offer yesterday via the EA online portal a few hours after viewing the property. The portal marked my offer as "incomplete" so followed up by phone this morning to check if it had gone through the system. EA rang back to say he would have passed the message to the vendor and get back to me.

I have another property in mind (viewed twice already) so would like to know reasonably soon if this offer is going somewhere or not.

When would you say I should follow up with the EA if nothing heard by the end of this week?

Thank you!

If it's Purple Bricks, don't hold your breath.

I offered on one of theirs after a viewing; I waited, and waited for a response to my pending offer. I never heard a thing from either the agent or vendor. I retracted after 3 weeks just so I knew where I stood.

My suggestion would be to keep viewing other properties, even if this one is 'the one'.
