It does seem that you're punished for not living frugally. I could spend my esa on cigarettes and drink and sky TV but I don't and have unwittingly gone over the 6000 mark, but I think it's wrong to be told to spend it on something frivolous by the jc that I don't actually need.
Is there any way of knowing who reported me maliciously for working? I think I know who it is, and have confronted them but they've denied it. Will the dwp tell me? There seem to be a lot of these fake accusations and dragging people through months of hell because some bitter person decided to make a false claim knowing there'll be no come back.0 -
No they won't and I would be very concerned if they did.
As you can prove it isn't true, its just some sad person who needs to find something better to do with their time.0 -
It was true. The OP did have more than £6,000 and didn't report the changes.deannatrois wrote: »No they won't and I would be very concerned if they did.

If the person doesn't need new clothes and is happy with their old furniture that individual could certainly see it as wasteful and frivolous.
Regarding finding out who reported suspected fraud, there is no way DWP will say who it was, nor should they. Although a report may be wrong it doesn't mean it was malicious.0
