Lloyds tsb reject 1990

Hi,
I today have received a letter from lloyds TSB rejecting my claim for ppi mis selling due to the fact I have no details and neither do they as they dont have to keep them for 1990.
I am looking for anyone else who has had success or failure with a similar time issue and if its worth going to the ombudman.

Thank you in advance

No point in going to the Ombudsman if no one has any evidence of anything.

If you can't prove you had an account and have no records proving you paid anything (let alone the fact you have to prove it was miss-sold) then unfortunately the complaint is over.

The only thing that could be done to put your mind at ease is send in a SAR (request for copy of all your data) and see if they can find anything that the PPI team couldn't but this is highly unlikely and indeed, logical if the account was from 1990 and closed more than 6 years ago

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
