Lidl parking

Sorry English is not my first language I have read many of the forums but still don’t quite understand what to put on my appeal to Athena.
I saw some templates but not sure if I should use them or not.
I got the parking charge on the mail a week ago.
I did buy something at Lidl but only after I realized about the penalty if I didn’t. I did not register the ticket.
I have the ticket and bank statements. Not sure if put the ticket on the appeal as you can see the time when I buy the items and it’s later than the time when the car was in the parking.
Thank you very much.

contact LIDL with proof of purchases etc and show them copies and insist that the pcn is cancelled , by giving them the athena reference
if it isnt cancelled within a couple of weeks of issue , read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread, 3 threads down from the top of this forum and use the blue text template , appealing as KEEPER (not as driver or anything)
DO NOT TELL ANYONE WHO WAS DRIVING
TELL LIDL YOU ARE AN OCCUPANT OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS THE KEEPER
do not take NO for an answer , its best if LIDL cancel this, so complain to their CEO by email if you have to0 -
Something like this?
Hello Mr Xxx
I received a civil parking charge notice number xxxxxxx regarding an incident occurring on the date xxxx
I kindly wanted to ask you to get this charge removed. I was an occupant on the car as well and I’m the keeper and Im asking this because I was in fact a customer at your store that day and the car was in the parking less than 1:30.
I add as a prove the receipt of that day and bank statement.0 -
yes , something like that is ideal , shows proof of patronage of the store with evidence but does not reveal who the driver was
if the direct approach fails, then appeal it as normal in the manner I said, using the blue text template to athena0 -
Here's one that was a little more direct - but go with what you are comfortable.
But I think I'd stress a bit more on your patronage on the day and refer to any previous (loyal/regular) shopping with Lidl.

athena already have it on file anyway0 -
Thank you very much to you all.
I got this reply.
Dear Customer,
Re: Parking Charge
Thank you for contacting our CEO. I been asked to respond on his behalf.
As you are probably aware, Lidl UK GmbH is a national retailer. As such, we have stores in locations with limited parking space and in common with many of our competitors, our store car parks are abused to a significant and detrimental extent. We have therefore judged it necessary to take measures so that our stores parking facilities are available first and foremost to our customers.
In order to ensure that sufficient parking spaces are available at all times to our customers, Lidl employs third party contractors to monitor and control our car parks. So far, this service has proved reliable and effective in reducing car park abuse and in freeing up spaces for our customers.
In light of your comments, on this one occasion, I have contacted the Car Park Management Company and have requested that this charge be cancelled. Please note, your comments regarding our parking restrictions have been noted and passed to the relevant department.
Thank you again for contacting us.
Yours sincerely,
For and on behalf of Lidl UK GmbH0 -
I answer this:
Thank you for answer and your help.
I totally understand your view point.
Although I think that a parking with a barrier with a mechanism to pay before you leave maybe will be more effective.
Thank you again.
Kind regards.0 -
Standard template cancellation of parking charge. Whatever - it's cancelled, as predicted. People just need to know which cage to rattle, which tail to pull.
Ever wondered why the vast majority of Athena's tickets are incurred at Lidl?
Some suggest that they and Lidl are in cahoots, with Lidl pocketing the lion's share of any PCN paid, Athena effectively receiving a mere admin charge.
Who knows where the truth lies, but we very rarely (and I'm struggling to remember any) see an Athena case outside of a Lidl involvement. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
