I have disputed the bill with Octopus for Gas.
Meter readings were submitted on the 14th Aug, Estimated value used for IRESA for over 160m3 more.
Ah, the joys..0 -

I've just paid the outsanding £25.50 and my IRESA account is now closed.
My Octopus account is now open with my actual meter reading from 31st July until it transfers to Eversmart on 10th September. All standing orders are closed.
Eversmart's leccy is 3.2p/kwh cheaper than Octopus, saving me 7200 x 3.2p = £230 a year.
The Eversmart standing charge is about 3p a day more costing £10.95 extra so I'm saving £220 by swapping.
May I suggest to everyone that they now keep their own meticulous records (at least monthly meter reads) just in case their next supplier falls off the twig. It makes sorting it all out so much easier rather than trying to trawl through incomplete and erroneous supplier info
Ditto for me. Although I haven't stopped the DD.
None of this stuff phases me. I keep meticulous track of my readings and have always chosen the cheapest deals.
OK, so I've had two folds now (GB Energy and now IRESA) but who cares - the supplies are never cut off and it all sorts itself out in the end. Never had a problem with any energy supplier.
Even allowing for a slight increase in tariffs while I arrange the switch away from a temporary supplier, I'm still quids in.
Nothing to sweat about.0 -
My transfer to Octopus completed today, billing now correct. As I suggested on another thread, Eversmart can hardly be worse than Iresa (can they?). They're the cheapest option for me now, as they seem to be for quite a few of us on here.
I was all set to go with Yorkshire Energy, but they withdrew the tariff last Thursday. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

But isn't this what smart meters are for?0
