I rang Tesco to ask if I could alter my statement month. They said, 'No'
They said yes to me last November. You can even do it online
    1. Manage your account
    2. Change Statement Date

That option doesn't appear for me anywhere in online banking

I had this same issue. Trouble is, I can't change the DDR date because it is for my credit card and that is out of my hands. It varies from month to month by a few days and so I also had two months without any interest.

I rang Tesco to ask if I could alter my statement month. They said, 'No', but gave me two months worth of interest as an ex gratia payment! I have now moved a different DDR to that account.

Do you have other accounts with DD's? Like Halifax reward? As you could just swap them around a bit.

That's a shame. For you obviously, not for me

This is what I see in: Credit Card > Overview

    On the left
    • Credit Card
    • Make a payment
    • Money transfer
    • Manage your account
    • Manage your account
    • Statement options
    • Alerts
    Then on the right
    • Add an additional card holder
    • Change Statement Date
    • Get a Credit Card PIN Reminder
    • Request an increase to your credit limit
    • Manage marketing and credit limit increase preferences
    • Get a replacement card
    • Transfer a balance from another credit card
    • Update address, e-mail and phone number

Think he's referring to the statement date of the bank account rather than credit card & doesnt say whether the credit card is a tesco one.

So take out a new interest free CC; buy something you need; pay minimum (usually £5 pm) by DD from Tesco.. ipso fatso you have another DD..
Piece of Pie..as they say en France :)

PS Keep an eye on the balance to ensure you have something to decrement by the £5; and also monitor the interest free period... but you can prob find CCs incentives to take you through to April '19..
  • setup a Paypal, is DD

Post Office Savings account. You can tell it what date of the month you want your direct debit. Or you can have a weekly direct debit - that will give your four direct debits a month, more than enough to meet the Tesco requirements.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Would four from the same account (weekly) count as four DD, or only one as the donor account is the same?

The reason for asking is I have two different Post Office accounts attached to one Halifax but now see that the reward has not been received, so wonder with them if it has to be two different companies, rather than just two direct debuts.

    Many thanks

Don't worry, that is what I did.

Yes I was indeed. It isn't a Tesco CC but, yes, I possibly could change the statement date of the CC. Trouble is I like having my CC statement billing on the 1st working day of the month. No longer an issue anyway due to my above comment.

Good point! Some accounts do require DDRs to be paid to different companies but the Tesco T&Cs are silent on this.
