Gas company taking a 'debt' that I DONT have !!!

Hi
I January I changed to a new company to get a smart meter on my gas meter as it's outside on the ground and as I'm disabled it's often difficult or impossible to get to.
A very long story short;
I've battled with them since January to get a smart meter to be constantly told someone will call me back to make an appointment! They don't.
Was given dates to have one fitted. They didn't turn up !
Since January they have been taking money from my top ups for a debt that I've Never had ! They admitted several times that it was their mistake and urgently sent out an engineer to reset my machine so I stopped paying anything. It didn't work; to this day I'm still paying them a debt I DONT HAVE !!
I've formally complained and waited a response.
I received an email stating simply
"Complaint Resolved as Done" !!!
Nothing was explained or addressed.
I contacted the ombudsman who have messed me about terribly and I can't seem to move forward with this.
Does anyone have any advice on what I can do next please as they owe me a fortune and are still robbing me :mad: and still no smart meter !!!

Contact CAB or Shelter in your local area.
Complain to the Ombudsman about their service.
Contact your MP and complain to them - whoeveritis may get some reaction from the Ombudsman and/or the energy company.

When did you fisrt pass this matter to the ombudsman?
When did the ombudsman first start to investigate your complaint (as opposed to just sending you an acknowledgement that they have received it)
What did the last communication from the ombudsman actually say?0 -
Thanks. I've been in touch with the ombudsman already who seem to be hopeless to be honest.

Cancel the subscription to your disputed gas company ifyou are paying thru CC or bank account.0
