Moving abroad - sell or rent out our house?

We're considering moving abroad and I'm wondering if it would make more sense to sell or rent out our house.
We would have to pay an early repayment charge if we sold up (around £2k). Also cash in savings isn't the best as it's taxed in the other country (the full savings, not just not the interest!)
In the other country we'd most likely rent at least initially and have enough additional savings even now for another deposit if we were to buy..
I guess what I'm really after is: would it be easier to sell or rent out (fully managed by an agent) and what do people think house prices will do in the sort/long term?

Not sure if anyone can answer if house prices will do in the sort/long term. Are you likely to move back in the future whether its 2 months or 2 years for whatever reason ?
Why not rent out the house0 -
Do you know the law of being a landlord and what you must follow? Even more yourself loving aboard in regards to tax?
What rights a tenant has?0 -
Self evidently it would be easier to sell than let it out.0

Selling is always easier.
Are you ever planning to move back and live in the house?0 -

If you want to know people's views on what house prices will do then head to the Debate House Prices and the Economy board.0

Does the place you are going tax all your assets or just your cash savings?0
