Which company to use for PPI?

I know you should do it yourself but first, I am busy and secondly, I doubt i will be due anything but worth a shot if it doesnt cost me anything.
So is there a better company to use than others which will do the search and have the lowest percentage (I know it's around 30% anyway).
I got a junk mail from Consumer Refund Service....would they be ok?
I had my first credit card in 2004. Had overdrafts with student bank accounts in the 90s. But otherwise no loans. First mortgage in 2007.
Thanks in advance

Never use a company for a complaint, It takes longer, has a lower chance of success and costs you half of any redress.
Just put in your complaint yourself. You can then recreate the experience of using a claims company by flushing half of your money down the toilet.0 -

It does cost you something if you succeed.
And if you are too busy to spend the 10 minutes required to raise a complaint directly then you are too busy to spend 15 minutes on the phone with a CMC answering questions and then another 10-15 minutes signing the forms they send out to you.So is there a better company to use than others which will do the search and have the lowest percentage (I know it's around 30% anyway).
CMCs are also subject to 20% VAT.
I have no intention of helping you select the shiniest turd.I got a junk mail from Consumer Refund Service....would they be ok?
They have a reputation on this site and are more than willing to take thousands for the cost of a stamp and envelope.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
I just completed the form direct with the company i wish to claim - it took less that 5 minutes to complete.
I am guessing that it would be longer with a claims company.0 -
The fact that it could cost thousands of pounds rather than an extra few minutes complaining direct should be deterrent enough..touch*my*food*feel*myfork wrote: »I am guessing that it would be longer with a claims company.
