Excellent. How bizarre they went to all that effort and then didn't turn up.
What costs did you get?

sorry for the latr reply 400 was awarded and judge hellman presided. i got a letter confirming the amount as i left the court but not yet recived any further corresspndence. how do i receive my costs? i assumed cel will send a cheque in the post?0

Yay, £400 costs is punitive, as they didn't turn up and were unreasonable!
Yes they should post a cheque, and if not you could write to the Judge.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
