Hire Car Keyed...

Hi all,
Recently been up visiting family in Scotland to introduce our new born son to the Glaswegian branch of the family. We have a daughter already and me and my other half both have smaller cars (me a hatchback and her a convertible), so not enough room in the car for all bags and baby’s pram etc. Because of this I’ve rented a car for the trip up and the following week (actually worked out cheaper getting it for 15 days than for 8).
Read up on the site here and took out stand alone excess cover as it worked out 25 quid rather than the 90 quid the hire company wanted.
However, while up in Glasgow, came to find yesterday that somebody has vandalised the car by keying the paint on the bonnet. Also then found that someone has clipped the rear corner of the car.
My question really is, do I take this to get looked at and sorted before handing the car back and save all the hassle but pay out further, or do I forget about it, hand the car back as is and let the insurance do what I’ve paid for?

Let the insurance sort it.0

Just check the T&C's of both the insurance and the car hire - the excess cover may only cover one 'incident' worth of damage per rental, some exclude larger cars (over 7 seats if thats what you have) and some hire car companies charge their excess (deposit) per incident too.0
