How does the " government backed bonds " work? Or is it some scam that these people can get away with?

I think it means steer well clear. Convince me otherwise.0

Never heard of them but, even if not a scam, it looks like an extremely high risk investment to me. Avoid.0

Had a quick read of the T&Cs and they are not FCA regulated and they state quite clearly that there is a significant risk of losing money.0

Did you bother looking at the disclaimers?
Amyma Ltd trading as government-backed-sector.com wish to make it clear that we do not give financial advice and are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
These products should be considered higher risk investments. There is a significant chance that you may receive back less than you have invested
In addition by declaring this statement I may lose significant rights and I may have no right to complain to either of the following: the Financial Services Authority; or- the Financial Ombudsman Scheme. I may have no right to seek compensation from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. I understand that I can lose my property and other assets from making investment decisions based on financial promotions
NB The Financial Services Authority ceased to exist on the 1st of April 20130 -
There's a previous thread on here about Amyma Investments:
I can't post the linkSelling off the UK's gold reserves at USD 276 per ounce was a really good idea, which I will not citicise in any way.0 -
Does the website say 'government backed bonds?'
Or does it say investments in a government backed sector?
I read the latter - but I only looked briefly.
Lots of companies are (or were) involved in government backed sectors; eg BAE Systems, Rolls Royce, Capita, Carillion... etcSelling off the UK's gold reserves at USD 276 per ounce was a really good idea, which I will not citicise in any way.0 -

OP,
Out of interest, how did you find out about the website / company?
I'm sure there are some good companies in the sectors shown. But the Amyma website doesn't tell you what or who the companies are that are actually issuing the bonds. You have to ''register your interest''.
If you want to find out more, you could contact Amyma and ask them who the companies are. Then you could find out more about the companies themselves.Selling off the UK's gold reserves at USD 276 per ounce was a really good idea, which I will not citicise in any way.0 -
I wouldn't do that. If you do contact them, you'll be plagued by boiler-room scammers for ever and a day, as your details will inevitably be sold on.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Run a mile OP, unless you want negative interest rates of 100%0
