Amex churning and Mortgage

Hi everyone,
What's your experience with churning American Express rewards cards while planning to get a mortgage?
I have 2 Amex Gold credit cards (the Rewards and the companion), a Virgin Rewards Mastercard and a Halifax Clarity cc.
I've referred my partner as well for the Amex Gold credit card, but her application was rejected. Thus I will have to work alone for now on getting the spending bonus points.
I'm planning to buy a flat with my partner next year, so I hope I still have some time to get a card or two before applying for a mortgage.
Thanks

Don't apply for new credit in the 6 months or so in the run up to your mortgage application.0

Why was your partner declined for the card?
If she is also applying for the mortgage you might want to check her credit files - if she can!!!8217;t get a credit card there may be issues getting a mortgage0 -
We are both 3 years in the UK, but all the bills and credit cards have been on my name so far. Recently I moved some bills over her name and she opened an Aqua cc to start building her credit score. Hopefully it will improve in one year.
Coming from abroad, the credit file system is somehow weird for me, but I believe it's easy to adapt and play with it.Why was your partner declined for the card?
