Neighbours "eyesore" lean to...

Don't mind a bit of shabby chic myself -bit different to a badly built eye sore though!!0

From the description it sounds like building warrants might be an issue rather than planning permission.(Nearly) dunroving0

Have a look at:
https://www.planningportal.co.uk/info/200130/common_projects/10/conservatories
My understanding was that upto 3m/4m (depending on if terraced, semi or detached) is allowed under PD, and up to 6m/8m with neighbour consultation or a LDC. So on the face of it, if an existing extension was already there, the conservatory may not be allowed.0 -
No England, but I do have a concern re building regs also0

"If the floor area of the building is between 15 square metres and 30 square metres, you will not normally be required to apply for building regulations approval providing that the building contains NO sleeping accommodation and is either at least one metre from any boundary or it is constructed substantially of non-combustible materials."
Just found the above on planning portal - I really doubt built from "non-combustible materials", but would be good to have the reassurance from the council, so I'll be calling them tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone for all the great advice0 -
Yes, sorry, forgot the other stuff.... Good luck!0

There are all sorts of building regulations and planning rules, so it's probably easiest if you just snitch on your neighbour to the council and the council will send someone round who is qualified to see if the rules have been brokenChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

That's what I was referring to earlier, albeit maybe not using the exact terminology to fit the country. Fire regulations alone would probably keep them busy enough to consider simply knocking the whole thing down.(Nearly) dunroving0
