I will let you know how I get on
Not sure, see anyone from the company posting on twitter ETC. (They used to be).0 -
Got in touch with nPower as Carrot007 suggested.
Re-opened my complaint (that was made on Friday 17th) and npower are now getting the ball rolling to get the National Database's records updated to reflect the situation.
Will keep you posted on progress.0 -
Just sue the energy company.
They know that you are not paying for your energy.
The refused to do anything about.
I believe they have certain responsibilities to you as their customer.
Take a lawyer and sue them to the stone age. This is working great in USA for a reason.0 -
Have spent 6 weeks sorting out my single new build property metering mess on a small development of just 15 houses, I sympathise with the OP. As far as I can see, developers are the primary cause of the problem as they think plot numbers when the rest of us think postal addresses. The problem becomes even more complicated when the developer hasn't got agreed address information for properties on the site. The result is that the companies installing meters - in my case SP and Fulcrum IGT - lodge the plot number against the MPAN/MPRN as if it was the address. This mess gets worse when they also use an adjacent postcode and get the meter serial numbers mixed up. I can well imagine that the chances of getting something wrong in a large apartment must be exponentially greater.
What I don't understand is why properties and meters are not in someway barcoded: ie, the same barcode is used for the property as well as for the meters. The various accounts are then set up against this barcode. It would also help if the end user had sight of the information held on the meter databases with the opportunity to submit a correction if it is necessary. The energy industry which sits below suppliers is more secretive than The Masons. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Just to bring you up to speed on everything. Due to nPower being completely inept and nothing being done, I raised this to the Energy Ombudsman on 21st Oct. They are currently in the process of getting the national database updated so that the details are all correct.0
