Virgin cc Unposted Transactions

in Credit cards
Hello,
I hope someone can share some light into this.
I have been charged 1£ for an unposted transaction. When clicking on the info-button, this information showed up:
Current Unposted TransactionsTransactions that have been approved, for which funds have been set aside. Once a transaction is transmitted through the credit card system, the unposted amount will be replaced by an actual charge. If the charge is cancelled and not processed through the credit card system, the unposted transaction will be removed from your account.
Now, what the hell does that mean? What charge?
If someone could share some light into this I would be greatful!
Cheers!

It either means that you have used your card to buy something for about £1 and it is not yet itemised on you statement or it means a company put a £1 authorisation through on your card to test it was valid but did not charge you the money.
Basically, you do not have to worry about it unless it appears on your recent transactions list in the next couple of days.0 -
Have you used that card to validate or open an ebay/paypal account? They often do a transaction for a small sum so you can use the transaction code to validate your new account and prove it is a legitimate card. Just a thought..?QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0

Do you buy petrol and pay at the pump?
Not many garages use chip and pin (yet) at these terminals so they do a test run for a £1 to see if a card has been reported lost or stolen before allowing you to fill up.0
