Buildings Insurance for Grade 2 Listed house

Hi all,
I've struggled to find decent buildings insurance for our (terraced 2 bed) but somehow or other grade 2 listed house. We are currently with NFU Mutual who offered the best option a few years ago, but since then I've just renewed it with them as it was such a hassle to find anyone to do it...
I'm hoping there are more options now and I can find a slightly better deal.. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I've tried that before and almost all linked me to policies that don't actually cover grade 2 listed buildings. I'll give it another go though, perhaps things have improved...0 -
So Swintons are the cheapest that I've heard of via Money Supermarket but they are so much cheaper than what I currently pay and I checked with them via chat that it was covering a grade 2 listed building. There were some wildly different prices from MS so I'm not sure about it... Also, I got a direct quote via the Swintons site and it's £20 cheaper still....
Anyone have experience with them?0 -
Yeah. Use them at your peril.
They are the Ryanair of Brokers, and you'll not see a recommendation from any members who know the industry.0 -
So I've just looked at companies that I've heard of, and had to go a long way down the lists to find them.. the prices doubling on the way..
Any advice on whether it's okay to go with any of these companies?
(cheapest first):
ENDSLEIGH
AVIVA
ADMIRAL

You'll get good and bad stories with most if not all insurers, personally I've got 2 cars, my house and my life insurance all through Aviva and I've found them fine (but not had to claim).
Their wording/covers are good enough for me.0 -

But almost entirely bad for Swintons... I'd hoped they weren't that cheap for a reason but it seems it was too good to be true.
Good to know about Aviva - thanks. These all seem like solid companies, and are offering almost identical specs.. I guess the real test is if you have to claim... and I wonder if anyone here has...0 -

Use a broker rather than a comparison site to get companies who'll cover grade II listed.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Will that make a difference? I'm quite tempted by the @350ish quotes I've had as that's £150 cheaper than what I am getting quoted by my current insurer.
I've never used a broker, how does it work, and suggestions of good companies to do this?
Thanks.0
