Council Housing bidding (Surrey)

Does it have to be Heathrow airport? There are airports in other parts of the country where housing is cheaper but pay is only a bit less making renting a property much more affordable.
Surrey council will not be able to house you. They have to house more vulnerable people before someone who can work. Even vulnerable people don't all get council housing and have to rent privately with help from benefits so you as a single person is not going to be a high priority for them.0 -
To the 2 replies above, I have been living in the UK for the last 12 years (came here when i was 12) and my Mother decided to move back 2 years ago, However my current situation is caused by the fact that i got kicked out my accommodation at the time due to relationship issues, Also i live close to Heathrow airport due to work (Speak Dutch Fluently) and got my job that way, But rent is very expensive around here and i have looked at flats nearby and they want a minimum of about £2,000 upfront including deposit and 1 month upfront.
So if kicked out of your accommodation you don't meet the requirements of the homeless duty because you're intentionally homeless.
You also need to be registered as homeless by the Council to get that status and let them decide if you meet the criteria. Then you inform the housing if the outcome. If you are registered it will bump up your banding.0 -
Where is work you!!!8217;re not classed as homeless of you can sofa surf as you aren!!!8217;t rough sleeping.
The last housing worker I spoke with felt it was madness but they have very limited resources and have to help the people in the worst situations first ...

If you are paying no rent or utilities, council tax, etc, then you should be able to save for a deposit and first month's rental very quickly if working full time? Or become a lodger, where the upfront deposit may be minimal or zero? 1 month's deposit and 1 month upfront is absolutely standard for any private rental.
Worst case, you could not borrow the money (personal loan?) to fund the above? Though to do that you'd need a permanent address.
As advised above, you are at the bottom of the priority list for social housing, it's not going to happen.
When you say you were 'kicked out' of your previous accommodation, what does that mean? I'm assuming that you did not have a legal tenancy and were not evicted-in which case you are defined as intentionally homeless: so the LA has no duty to rehouse you.No free lunch, and no free laptop
