I have looked around the forum for similar queries but cannot see anything with the same issue. Apologies in advance if I have missed it.
My query is about a PCN I have received on private land from an ANPR camera, (Issued in March by Total Parking Solutions). The original ticket was sent to my previous address because I did not update my address on my V5 certificate.
I was therefore only made aware of the fine in June when I updated my address and received a letter from BW Legal chasing the debt of £124. I have just received the evidence of the original ticket after requesting that the solicitors request it from the parking company. The reason for the contravention is stated on the ticket as 'No Payment', however, I have a copy of the ticket I purchased on the day (I was parked at a train station to go to the first day of a two day work conference so I kept a copy for my expenses).
The car park machine is one that requires the registration plate to be entered. On the ticket are the first two letters of my car registration plate. On the ticket for the next day is my full registration plate. I don't recall whether I entered the full reg plate on the first day, I clearly tried to but wasn't paying too much notice to what was printed on the ticket. Anyway, the ticket on the first day only has two letters, but the fact remains that I did pay for the required time for parking.
My query is whether and how I can appeal this. I obviously didn't make an initial appeal as I knew nothing of the ticket, so I am not able to go through POPLA, as I understand they require the verification code that is issued when the first appeal is rejected. The solicitors are obviously not interested in my evidence and are simply trying to make me pay.
I have been given a 'deadline' of the 25th Aug by BW Legal, when presumably they will start the process for CCJ. I am unsure what to do, whether I now need to wait for this to go to a CCJ claim and then make an appeal against it. My worry with this is that the costs will mount up and I will end up owing a bigger amount than currently if I was to lose the appeal.
I guess my only other train of thought is could my employer be responsible for paying the fine, as I was parked for a work-related event.
Thanks in advance.

no you cannot appeal this, its far too late for any appeals to the parking company, plus you cannot "appeal" this with their solicitors either (or a court for that matter)
you can send a rebuttal to their LBC, see the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread, post #2 , plus see other recent LBC REBUTTAL threads as you are definitely not the first, so crib from other threads
if an MCOL is issued, you wont be appealing it either, you will be the defendant (as in any court case) and you will be DEFENDING it by drafting a DEFENCE
there is no "fine", there is an INVOICE for an alleged debt , only you are using the 4 letter F word, nobody else is0 -

I'm bored with telling people - because you can Google it in seconds - there is (unless you are an aggressive and unreasonable, vexatious person!) no risk by defending a small claim. The sum a Judge might order to be paid is about the same as the daft £160 or so being demanded right now, even for the odd 1% of cases we see lose.
99% of people here - when fully coached/supported & follow procedures - report a win.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
