Saying that, I haven't had a customs charge from Amazon.com yet, so I am guessing my turn is due!0

I've found an ebay seller in the States that sells items that I just adore and can't get in the UK. Everytime i order I am nervous until the goods actually arrive, but so far despite a correct and full declaration being made, have not been asked for any duty or handling charges. I'm not talking about a great deal of money, usually around the £25 mark but still over th elimit. I have an order going in for my Christmas present and that is likely to be around the £90 mark so I am bound to have to pay on that one.
My last package though was weird, usually if I am not here to take delivery I get a card to go to the sorting office. This time I had a card saying I had to go to a a tiny PO several miles from home to collect the parcel, I was sure I was going to be hit with a charge, but no..they just handed it over to me.
I'm actually browsing the sellers pages at the moment trying to decide what to buy next...decision decisions..I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. was it via parcelforce?0

was it via parcelforce?
I don't know..it wasn't a large parcel so I assumed standard mail. In the past my parcelforce items have been collected from the local depot that is actually closer than the PO I was sent to.
Incidentally..my post today has just this minute arrived..that's the latest so far!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. lol that is late.probably covered in overtime.
parcelforce sometimes leave packages @ PO counters here.the PF depot is near the edge of the city so its easier for customers however just this week ive had a couple of customers asking me where post offices were as the PF driver has left the package at a PO further than their local post office.very strange.
my one thought on the matter is that parcelforce are using van owner/drivers who either dont know the area so well and the layout of post offices.
its somthing ive meant ot post about but keep forgetting on appropriate threads.
a lot of courier companies now use owner/drivers instead of employees.
a good example is when you organise a cheap ebay courier and the package is collected by a driver in a plain non livery van.
same as when you get a card through from a courier and have a mobile number to call for redelivery instead of a standard call centre number.0 -

I'm tempted not to say as it might make me look a bit of a saddo..but I'll whisper it...beautifully made renaissance faire and re-enactment costumes. The stuff in the Uk tends to be low quality and poorly made. The seller I have found in the US has the most superb quality and materials, real leather for bodices and belts and tapered full circle dancing skirts so that there is not too much material round the waist. I would post the sellers name but I wouldn't want anyone to think I had any connection rather than being just a very satisfied buyer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. as far as I'm aware, postage is ignored, so you should be okI've got something coming from Amazon.com, which ended up coming to just over £22.00 with the postage...do customs include the postage costs in the £18.00? As otherwise, hopefully, I should just miss customs should they look at it.

Oooohh, sounds lovely! And not a saddo at all! I collect Pocket Dragons and get all excited when I get a rare one! So if you're sad, I am too!0
