Does damage to bodywork cause rusting?

I have some coming tomorrow so will give it a go and let you know. If it's half as good as it looks on the video it'll be worth it.
Thanks again.0 -
I tried some just now. The colour match is very good and it was simple and quick to use.
From a distance you can't tell anything has been done to it (i.e. looks painted as normal). But on closer inspection you can see that something has been painted over the top. The two giveaways are the paint is less gloss/more matt but also the painted part is slightly raised so when the light catches it it looks a bit bumpy.
I am pleased that it has covered the primer. Since I have no experience with this kind of thing whatsoever, do paint repairs to cars never look perfect? Or is this just because I used a non-professional product? Is there anything I can/should do post-application to make it blend in better?
Although simple I'd imagine you get better at applying it the more you do it. I wonder if in hindsight I used too much paint.
If I leave it as is it is better than it was. I am not complaining the product hasn't worked, just tryng to understand it all a little better!0 -

Although it's quick and easy to use you still need to take your time to achieve the best results.0 -
Thanks for the reply. Is there anything I can do about it or is it too late?
It's not a botched job, by the way. I'm really trying to get an idea as to what the potential is of this stuff and how good it can look.
It says it takes two weeks to cure and the blending is done after the paint has dry. Could I just apply the blending and polish a couple more times?
I have gone back out and looked at it and it does actually look very good. I'm just being a bit picky now.0 -
If you have put too much paint on and have a small blob, that is a good thing. It means you can flat it off level. Leave it for a couple of weeks until the paint is completely hard. Gently sand it flat with 1200 grit paper, and then polish until you have a shiny surface to match the rest.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0

I will try that, thank you. With that kind of sandpaper is there any risk of scratching the car (sorry I know next-to-nothing about all this).0

Having said that if you carry on with the blending solution and polish while the paint hasn't yet cured you should be able to flatten out the repair. Don't forget to use the supplied rubber backing block.
Another good method to remove paint blobs and high spots is with a paint de-nibbing tool.0 -
I'll try that first, thanks!0
