Claiming PPI for late father

My dad died on 17th July and I am he's next of kin, can I claim PPI on he's behalf? Also, he hadn't paid the balance off. I know that any PPI owing goes to the debt but will this still apply as he is now deceased. Any money I receive will be going towards he's headstone.

Thanks in advance

You can if you have the appropriate authority e.g. as executor of the estate.

Do you know that a) he had PPI (check his card/loan statements) and b) he didn't want it?

You have to be factual about the complaint too, if you were not present at the sale you cannot make allegations such as he was told he had to have it as you don't know that. Look at things such as work benefits when he took a policy out or if he was out of work when it started etc

Yes any money that they pay out will go to the debt first, while debts can go with death, the estate owes the money and if the estate has money it should be used on the debts.

    Condolences for your loss

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

    Sorry for your loss.

The executor of the estate holds the legal responsibility to act on the behalf of the estate of your father. If you are the executor then you can make a complaint on behalf of the estate.
Also, he hadn't paid the balance off. I know that any PPI owing goes to the debt but will this still apply as he is now deceased.

Any debt is offset by what is the estate. So, unless the estate is in default (no assets) they will get their money. If it is in default, then the PPI redress can go against the debt as it is an asset of the estate.
