This is an !!!8220;over the garden fence!!!8221; type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It!!!8217;s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we!!!8217;re going to do today or what we!!!8217;ve achieved already. Everyone!!!8217;s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn!!!8217;t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don!!!8217;t post large pictures, or clip art !!!8211; links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don!!!8217;t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Couldn't find today's thread so started a new daily.
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dull, cloudy and now raining, rain is forecast all morning, then brightening up later.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly.
Dinner last night was chicken in country sauce, new potatoes, carrots, green beans, peas, and LO cauli/broc cheese for the menfolk. I had chicken, new potatoes, carrots and green beans with gravy, dessert was a banana and fat free yogurt. Tonight we'll be having gammon, egg, chips and peas for the menfolk, I'll be having jacket potato with mine and more veg.
I have quite a "to do" list for today and tomorrow, so will get cracking with it, will just do what I can. I have to go into work this morning for a team meeting/training session, the rest of the days' my own after that.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
Children in our area start back to school today, lots of excited Primary 1s all in their shiny new uniforms, lovely. The parents will be skipping out of the gate!
Yesterday was extremely busy, I didn't get a break all day and finished about an hour later than I should, I was exhausted when I got home.
Dry for now but rain is due for the rest of the day so the washing can go on the pulley, seems ages since it went outside.
Hope you all have a happy Thursday, take care. XX0 -
Morning all.
Yesterday I did a lot of prepping for new class, boring but productive. The time of the class has been changed to the afternnon so was a tad cheesed off. Shook off that feeling after a while...not important really.
It's been lovely at home, so much fresh air.
I hope everyone is doing OK. Happy Thursday folks.0 -

I've slept really well the past couple of nights but I'm waking up feeling worn out. It's taking me about an hour to wake up properly but after that I'm raring to go. It feels alien to me, but I like the more energenic days

I'm going to ring dad later to make sure he's OK. NOT at 10am though – he retired ages ago but is still on work time so he's up at 6am, ready to start his day 30 minutes later and still has a cup of tea and a snack at break time

Morrison's had their own brand soup on offer so I bought 20 tins (would've bought more but it was maximum 20 tins per order). Realised I'd need to rearrange a bit to make them fit so I ended up emptying and cleaning the cupboard, I found loads of stuff that mr tru had bought ages ago so I left it all out and told him to eat it, lol. The soup was supposed to be stores for autumn/winter but I've already started eating it
I've had a lot of washing to do for the past two days, not sure where it all came from but the last load is on the line now. I'll fling all the windows open to give the house a good airing and will hoover and dust. This afternoon I'm going to tweak that sunflower pattern, I thought I'd nailed it but it's still not quite right.

Morning all
Dry here at atm but meant to be raining later on and for the rest of the day, the event at work has been cancelled today so should be quiet, yesterday was very busy and we were all shattered.
Something and chips for dinner tonight not sure what but I think there are some fish portions in the freezer.
Need to do a wash tonight, it will have to go on the airer.
DD and boyf are slowly moving all their stuff out I think they will do a bit more tonight, and actually move tomorrow, I shall miss her like mad but not the mess they both cause, and I have to say its been hard on everyone having him living here so it will be nice to have my house back.
Right better on have good days all xx0 -
Morning

Tru I saw those soups on Tuesday and what a bargain. Mum got the chicken curry one which is radical for her. She would only buy one though despite having loads of cupboard space she has no OS skills Im afraid so bargains mean nothing to her.
Busy work day yesterday and managed to scrape a bit more work for early sept so I will be able to eat
Having said that I also booked a spa hotel with my bestie for a night early sept looking forward to that now but now need some more work to cover. My excuse is it was a deal we couldn't leave
Had a chuck together chicken curry last night but it was really disappointing. I do like the chicken tikka jars to have in for lazy days but this was a balti and really not good. Today I am out to lunch with one of the book club girls and her daughter so the left over curry may be finding its way to the bin  (sorry Jackiemum but it was awful)
Did anyone watch the Orangutan jungle school last night? What an amazing project and really tugged at the heart strings.
RR hope you found the right cleaner
Have a great day all0 -
Good morning chums big day for DGS Jack he gets his A level results this morning, and his next down brother Henry his AS ones as he is in first year of sixth form fingers crossed for them both and anyone with nervous youngsters this morning. Considering how much media hype is given to a small minority of youngsters who misbehave, there are thousands of young people this morning who have worked their socks off to do well I know my DGS have all worked for theirs
Several of Jacks pals came round to his house yesterday afternoon and each and eveyone of them were nervous about this morning bless them I wish the media would give them all a pat on the back for a change as I know it will be said that the exams are not as hard as they used to be Its said every year, and I think its a shame, as the majority of kids do work very hard and make an effort so hopefully they will all do OK
Only one more day until my holiday
can't wait to get on the ferry tomorrow
My fridge is almost empty so nothing will be binned
and packing is almost done as well
Hope all of our poorly friends on here are OK and if I don't manage to get online whilst away I will be like the American general and return
:):):)
Have a good day everyone what ever you are doing
JackieO xx
P.S.Nelski I am all for LFHW but not if it takes horrible honey xx0 -
Morning from the wet West Midlands, it has been raining steadily since I got up at 4.45. Meant to clear up later.
I have some washing going round in the machine and it will have to be hung indoors. Yesterday's washing is still airing as it didn't dry fully.
Today I'm off go the dentist, almost certainly going to have this tooth out and I'm not exactly looking forward to this.
JackieO I think it is tomorrow for your family holiday, isn't it, hope you have a great time.
Thinking of those who are unwell or worried, particularly TA and Deleted_User and poppy. I don't want to leave anyone out so please consider yourself virtually hugged.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning All,
Raining here to. Supposed to stop around 11am. I shall get my things ready to be out the door when it stops.
More paperwork, phoning and rearranging of furniture.
Have a lovely holiday JackieO
