In your initial post you said you had been offered £5000 but asked for £6200 - there was no mention here that you had PTSD or that your solicitor had recommended a claim of up to £10,000, it just sounded like you wanted £1200 more. Then you say the money is to cover your costs not just you wanted more money.

Each post you reveal extra details that should have been in the first post to give you a better answer in the first place to avoid all the to and fro!

I had an offer after a car accident, law firm said it should be worth pushing higher, we didn't ask for a figure, all in all took about 20 months to resolve but went up by about 33% on the initial offer + all costs

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

OP at the end of the day how long is a piece of string in regards to how much higher and how long.

You know who will have those answers? Your own solicitor, so I would be patient and wait for them to respond and dialogue with them

A random internet forum will not know your specific case and remember we are all taking our own time to reply, whether useful or not that is up to you.

You want good paid advice, your solicitor.

On a side note, ensuring you include as much detail as possible avoids any conflict and people will be more informed and better placed to answer your questions

It's like going to a car deal asking you want to buy a car but not telling them which model, make, colour, we don't read minds on here

You've been told repeatedly you need to speak to your solicitor, you are (indirectly) paying them a big sum of money. Ring them up and ask them. Every situation is different, what one person got is nothing like any other as it's different firms, different injury, different bands of compensation etc etc - so ask the person who actually has all the facts and is dealing with the case!
