Mazda servicing

How much can I expect to pay for some new spark plugs for a Mazda and are they easy to change yourself?

Also how much can I expect to pay for some brake pads and discs?

Easy to change yourself, just don't try to force them in at first, you should be able to turn them by hand several turns. If you can't then they're in cross thread and if you force it you can strip the threads out of the cylinder head and then you're in a world of hurt. Around £40 or so for a set of plugs.

Pads and discs, depends on what you want as the prices vary significantly but you should have plenty of change out of £100.

Where are the spark plugs? I cannot find them in the engine bay area under the bonnet

Have you even looked online to see if there's a manual?

Might be worth stating it's an RX8 in each of your posts as there are significant differences between the rotary engine and a standard ICE. Keepng people in the dark can be damaging on the matter of advice.

My be it's a diesel engine in the RX8 special edition you have or is it dark under the bonnet?

Is it fitted with rear brakes or does it not matter?

Have a look on youtube. Someone is bound to have changed theirs and filmed it, so you can see how much of the car can remain screwed together (not much on a "modern" car- luckily some have iridium plugs now that you can forget about until the coilpacks start failing)
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

So you've researched new wings and welding and have had an RX8 before, yet you don't know what brake shoes and pads cost? Won't they be about the same price on the RX8 that got written off?

Oh, and why did you not go for the BMW M2 you were looking at?

Just in case this is a serious question:

Take off the n/s/f wheel and you will see them.

    Sparkplugs https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-MAZDA-RX8-SPARK-PLUGS-LEADING-TRAILING-SET-LASER-IRIDIUM-RE7C-L-RE9B-T/271001439967

Any cheaper than this and they are probably fake.
