Halifax PPI form - is it necessary

My question is, is it worth appealing as I don't know how they concluded to that decision if I don't even remember?
If you don't remember/or know your circumstances when the PPI was sold to you in 1983 (if it even was PPI rather than some other insurance) on what basis did you come to the conclusion that it was miss sold to you.0 -
.......because the world is full of chancers - there is no penalty if anybody finds against you!!0

I have an ongoing PPI complaint against Halifax. When it started I had a long telephone call from them in which the caller stated that I had signed to accept the PPI policy. However there is no mention of such a document in their replies to me despite me raising the point several times. I would have thought that they would have used this signature if they have it as incontrovertible proof that I agreed. I have also requested a copy of their recording of the call but get no answer.
I am worried that because I was told I'd signed, my later replies in the phone call were coloured by the me believing I'd agreed and they are then using that as evidence against my claim.
I suspect that this may have been done deliberately and am raising my concerns with the Financial Ombudsman.
Has anyone else had a similar problem ?0 -
If you disagree with their final decision, you can go to FOS.
But don't go down the route of them trying to twist the evidence, as it will make you seem a bit of a nut.0
