Car crash advice
I was rear ended last weds evening and driven off the road almost smashing into someones front garden wall. I just managed to wrench the handbrake up before doing so.
The rear of my car is shunted in, the grill and another large piece of car undercarriage were ripped off and car leaking fuel.
The driver of the other car drove off, smashed into someone else, beat that driver up, belted a police officer who tried to arrest him and was then tasered.
I have witnesses who saw me rammed off the road (I almost ran them over at the junction as I mounted the pavement) and police are obviously involved.
The driver of the other vehicle has not admitted liability but I assume that this is because they are in custody- my insurers have given them another 19 days to respond but my query is what then? If they dont respond what happens?
Any advise on anything else I need to do as its stressful and a minefield.

The third party insurance company deal with your claim, assuming he was insured.
If he wasnt insured your company deal with your claim and any of your personal losses ie excess you put a claim in to the MIB. I cant recall what the figure needs to be above for your losses to enqble the MIB to deal with (they do not pay your insurance company their outlay).
If you are insured third party/third party fire and theft then liaise with his insurance company, if insured.
If he isnt insured then you need 3 repair estimates or write off confirmation from the garage and submit your losses to the MIB, again subject to their deduction.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0
