  • it definitely doesnt say any of those anywhere on the letter.

However, it does say payment must be made within 14 days otherwise they will seek client's permission to commence legal proceedings. On the back of the letter is a "how to make a payment" section.

Does keeper need to make any response to this letter?

In a word no. They only letter you need to respond to is a genuine LBC.

If court papers arrive then they need responding to as well. For some reason people call them letters but they are in fact forms. Calling them letters suggests they aren't taken seriously enough.

Ask the council for the contact details of the person they will be sending as a witness to your court case.

No, that's a debt collector chaser.

  • Hi All

Registered keeper has received a "Letter of Claim" in the post saying that legal company has been instructed to commence legal action. Now includes additional costs totally close to £250.

Saying if we pay £160 now keeper will not face court action.

Includes a "Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claim" letter.

Been given a month to make payment or send a response, otherwise a CCC will be issued.

A Reply Form has been provided. Does this need to be filled out or can be left?

Really dont need this right now. Would be very grateful to know what my options are.

    thanks all

Private advice is a dangerous thing. You have no idea who is giving it nor the quality of it. Even regulars have different opinions.

Not only that if you rely on it in court the ppc get to see it way in advance anyway. There is little to be gained by not asking in open. As long as it doesn't identify the driver that is.
