Tru, I'm glad the funeral went as well as these things can.

Holly, well done on the meeting with your ex.

Csarina, hope all goes well today.

NMLC, well done on the weight loss.

    Dumpling, enjoy the grandchildren.

We had a brilliant night at the Tattoo. The end was very moving because they had the Buglers from the Menin Gate at Ypres playing the Last Post to commemorate the centenary of the ending of WWI.

Lainey, you would have loved the Omani's - about 12 pipers on beautiful, elegant, matched horses. I think they were bays but might have been chestnuts. They also had two big drum horses with the drums being played by women and a marching band also of women.
  • Good morning one and all,

I returned from Gibraltar late last night. A lovely place. Weather was roasting - mid thirties - and everyone speaks English, they use GBP and the plugs and British too. I shouldn't be surprised I suppose. My colleagues and landed late on Monday afternoon and left 24 hour later. We didn't do the touristy stuff but went a walk and tried a couple of nice restaurants. Lots of lovely yahcts in the harbour too drool over too. The meeting went well but these sort of sales discussions are never decided overnight so it'll likely be a couple of months before there's developments.

Back to work today, for one day only, before leaving for a week with my family to Aviemore, Thursday - Thursday. It's a lovely place, with very little to do, which is just perfect. Going lovely walks, reading books, good food and better company. What more can I ask for.

HH - Wow! What's the chances of that. Glad it all went well.
  • Morning all, slept a bit better and didn't get up until 430 though I came down to use the loo at 1.00. DS was making fancy bread, he'd just thrown one lot if dough out and was about to make another (grumpily) and when I came back down, no bread in sight and ingredients in tge kitchen bin. He'd said at 1 tgat he thought the heatwave had done for the yeast, I imagine he felt the same about the flour or flours he had tried. When he gets up he is going to be uber-grumpy about this. And will doubtless require a trip to the supermarket.

So far, I've cleaned up after him, washed 352 utensils, wiped up all the flour, swept the floors to remove the flour, swept flour off the carpet. Cleaned the bathroom, got stung by a wasp, had some toast, made a coat for a teddy gear and watched a cr*ppm film on TV. Did some washing and now I'll have a shower.

Tru, I'm glad things went well.

Sending best wishes to the sad and worried.

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Was up early although did not sleep well again. Bed changed, it was bright and breezy so slung the duvet over the line for a blow and a freshen up. Sheets etc almost dry on the line. Also moved the shelves with the towels on out of our bedroom, they have been there since we discovered the problem with the leak, bedroom looks a lot bigger now. They are back the the cupboard where the boiler is.

Nothing from OH, he is going to ring me when they come to collect him. I have hard boiled a couple of eggs to do egg mayo sarnies if he arrives before lunch, somehow think it might be this afternoon. I have also taken chicken out of the freezer for tonights supper, he can either have rice or veg with it.

Re cleaners, I make OH clear up his mess the night before they come. They do not touch the second bedroom unless I ask them to hoover the carpet, so just our bedroom, sitting room, kitchen, bathroom and toilet require their ministrations.

I had some info come from the Carers organisation, there is a questionnaire I can complete to see if I can get more help money wise with him. Will be getting the Dr to call tomorrow.

blimey AOD you need to have a word.....old enough to cook =old enough to clean up surely. I watch a lot of cooking stuff as you probably know and the great chefs insist on clean working areas. 352 utensils:eek: I dont think I have half of that :D

Hope the wasp sting is ok and your tooth of course
  • Well Nelski, he will normally clean up after himself but I think he went off to bed in a bit of a snit because things had not worked out and there is no way that I could have left it, this place is not particularly nice, mess on top is too much.

I'm ok, it couldn't get its stinger all the way in because of my pjs. I'm not allergic, just hate wasps.

Tooth is going to come out tomorrow I think as still painful. The abcess keEpson subsiding and trying to return, despite the antibiotics.

Hi ya chums ,we won two bottles of plonk last night at quiz beating our nearest rivals by one point .
Strange how odd things stick in ones head :) One question which I remembered was, what was the name of the first record on which the Beatles sung. I remembered it because it was such a weird song .'My Bonny(lies over the ocean )' stuck at the back of my mind for years and popped out last night and my team mates looked at me and said 'Are you sure' ? It won us the two bottle of vino :):)

We had a raffle for a local childrens hospice, and my friend Janet in my team won £50.00 and kindly donated it back to the charity for the children bless her, she said it won't hurt, and might give the kids a bit extra, Landlord was chuffed to bits

Took DGS Mikey to get his school shoes this morning so that's another job out of the way Roll on Friday :)

Hugs to the for;ies and worried

Quite warm today even though its overcast ,dreaful that accident in Italy wasn't it those poor people

    Take care chums

Have had a lovely couple of days staying with one of my sons and family. They really spoilt me and I enjoyed playing games with the grandchildren. I slept such a lot too, I think just getting away let me relax. Made some tomato pasta sauce for the freezer this morning and now need to clear up the kitchen. Out for a drinks evening locally later so will need to get the glad rags on.

I see the Consultant next week and also the Oncology nurse to start treatment, fingers crossed.
