Citroen PPI

I know I had ppi on a car I bought back in 2004, I knew at the time I didn’t really want it but the dealer managed to wangle it into the monthly price I was willing to pay for the car! I have however lost the details and I don’t remember who the Citroen lender was (husband made me get rid of all the paperwork I’d kept when I sold the car on). I’ve tried the two banks I thought it could have gone through to no avail. Citroen themselves are about as useful as a chocolate tea pot! Anyone have any idea who the lender was back in 2004!

It doesn't matter who the lender was, as you need to complain to whoever sold it to you.

However, it is also pre regulation, so they can reject your complaint.

You complain to the dealer. If they were a Citroen one you could try them in general but your only chance would be whoever the underwriter was and see if they will look at it - do not get your hopes up, however as they have no liability so almost certainly this will be rejected.

Why did you agree to the finance if you didn't want the insurance?

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

and I don!!!8217;t remember who the Citroen lender was

Lender is irrelevant. You complain to the one that sold it to you as it is a missale complaint. Not a product complaint. However, as said above, most dealers were not regulated in 2004.
Citroen themselves are about as useful as a chocolate tea pot!

Its difficult for them to be helpful as it has nothing to do with them. If you phone up other companies that it has nothing to do with, they will be equally unhelpful.
