He hasn't been convicted of anything yet, he will be put on bail and out today; and gone tomorrow.

Good god this comms person just hangs around on here waiting to pounce on anyone in distress with his negative vibe. I 'almost' feel sorry for him

I’m just being practical, the OP jumped the gun in sentencing when all that’s happened is an arrest.
  • You know very little about the perpetrator and his current situation outside of the details I have shared with you. You're jumping the gun to assume he will be out on bail.

The default position is that everyone is entitled to bail.

True under normal circumstances. However, having spoken to the Officer - the PPS have decided due to the nature/number of his crimes and the difficulty in finding him in the first place, he will not be allowed out on bail.

Funny since it’s the courts who decide that.

Although pedantry may be annoying can be helpful to be accurate (especially in respect of legal issues). You could argue pedantry is what the legal system is built on. In the spirit of pedantry if he was apprehended in Kent presumably CPS not PPS (NI) involved?

Presuming what the police meant is that the CPS/PPS will contest bail being granted.

Hopefully there is a way for you to be refunded, although quite likely CCJ route would be unfruitful (and cost you more).

I believe so, I'm awaiting an email. This was all discussed on the phone this morning.

I'll update you all again in another year.
