Parking at Newcastle cruise port

I'm going on a cruise from Newcastle and before I pay Fred Olsen £85.50 for parking is there any free parking I could use within walking distance of the cruise terminal?
If not I will just pay it as what's another £85.50 when you're spending £3000 on a cruise? :rotfl:

Is the cruise actually going from Royal Quays in North Shields? I'd expect so.
If so, it's kind of in a shopping area (Royal Quays), with a pub too. I'd imagine it's all restricted on time in their own car parks. There's nowhere I can think that you could park very nearby. Unless you find a street in Percy Main, and get a taxi for 5 minutes or so?0 -

But none of these have free parking within walking distance of the cruise terminal or are they free.0 -

Wherever Fred Olsen sails from. NE29 6EE is the postcode they say to input into sat navs.0 -
There isn't any free parking near the terminal.
The parking is just a short walk from the cruise terminal. If you have mobility problems they can find you a space nearest the road.
You drop off your luggage at the terminal building and then go to park the car. Can't remember if there is a shuttle bus- don't think so (don't quote me on that!)
On the return just get your luggage on a trolley and find a porter or find a porter first and ask them to push the luggage up the hill.
It's a really easy port- no need to end up in a major city (like Liverpool) getting lost round one way streets !!
It's my go-to port- straight up the A1Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

There is a previos post on this where a local hotel lets people park for the cruise duration after one nights stay.
Its on page 5 ,scroll back and see if its any good.0 -
Hi Helen28, I looked into this and I have just decided to pay Fred. Olsen for parking as it is more convenient.
As you say, what's another £95 on a £3000 cruise.
This way I can leave my home at 10am on the day of my cruise and should be onboard by 2-3pm after a leisurely 180 mile drive down the A1.
What cruise are you going on?over 73 but not over the hill.0 -
