I went to HSBC and paid my Capital one visa over the counter, and also got charged fiver for not being a customer
So I’ve decided to become a customer and stop paying a fiver a time!
I wanted to know if anyone pays their Capital one visa at HSBC, and how long it takes to clear in their account.
I paid it in on Wednesday and it still hasn’t shown up on my Capital one account.
Thanks

Hi
I have paid my Cap1 at HSBC in the past but just said I was a customer when asked. They just accepted it
When paying Cap1 account I'd allow 5 working days so depending on when Wednesday it could be Thursday 2nd June as Sat/Sun (weekend) and this week is Bank Holiday Monday.
Cap1 statements show a recommended payment date under your account details and summery and just a bove the payment slip.

I am a customer of HSBC and pay my capital one visa through them. It takes 3 working days to clear then another day to appear on your online account.

Thanks for the replies.
I have to make sure Capital one receives the payment by the 7th June?
I was getting a little worried incase they didn’t receive it on time.
I pay my Cable bill by pay point and it’s received the very next day, I think I’m panicking a little because it’s my first statement.
I was a little scared when my statement wasn’t showing up? It did eventually but I’m trying to make a good impression with Capital one and boost my credit rating a little higher.
I paid well over the £8.00 minimum they wanted; I’ve used £160 of the £200 limit they gave me and paid £160 straight back to them.
I just hope by paying well over the minimum they increase my limit?.
Really appreciate the help from you both.
Darren

No problems Darren, I am in the same boat trying to improve my credit rating although have heard they can take up to 12 months before increasing limits. I go away a lot for work so really needed a credit card for when staying in hotels etc. I am the same as you and have paid the full amount off near enough as soon as I have used it.

boogiemaster, you can order ADDITIONAL PAYMENTS SLIP from CapitalOne by asking one of their customer service representatives. Keep them and use them if your statement doesnt arrives, or if you want to make additional payments. P.s also there FREE!! :rotfl:0 -
I'm a HSBC customer and I used to pay my credit cards in a branch after work or on my days off soon after I got paid. Sometimes they would ask me if I am a HSBC customer and would ask to see proof, other times they would just take my word for it. It seemed to take 3 or 4 (working) days for the money to reach the credit card though they usually say allow at least 5 working days.
I have a Barclaycard and I just use my switch card to pay off what I need to now. It takes less than 48 hrs and I can do it in the comfort of my own home.0 -
Also if you pay using a bank's online facilities you can make a payment whenever you want/need to.
I also find that by using this method my payment reaches my cc account on two work days after I have made the payment provided the payment was made on a working day (if that makes sense!)2014 Target;

That what i would do (if i will ever get the card-been waiting tem weeks now...) save you from queing, and when you have a little monster hollering around the bank, playing money bars on the queing barriers; internet banking is sooo much easier!!!

I bank with Barclays and pay my Capital One bill (as well as catalogue bills) through them with no charges but if I were to go to HSBC then I too would be charged £5. Give your normal bank a quick ring and ask them."And crawling on the planet's face,

Thanks for all the replies and help.
I paid my statement on Tuesday and phoned Capital one today, they said they had received my payment on Thursday.
I told them that the site is still showing no payment made from me? She told me the site dose take a little time to update?
How long will it take to update? I also asked for more statements to be sent and then I can pay my visa before the statement comes
Once again thanks for all the help and really useful advice.
