Formula one shrewsbury

I took my car to the Shrewsbury centre for a full cambelt and water pump service costing me almost £500. During the service they damaged the sump causing an oil leak, took the car back and they replaced the sump. 8 weeks later the oil pressure too low light came on. I took my car back to them where they had it for 4 days telling me the engine head needed removing because there was knocking evident. Picked it up 4 days later to be told there was a leak around the oil filter and the engine didn't need to be looked at as it was (In the words of the manager ian) "running sweet as a nut and was safe to drive" I rang head office to say I wasn't happy to take the car from the garage as the engine sounded like it was knocking. 13 miles later the car broke down. The car has since been looked at by another garage and diagnosed with the sump not being fitted correctly causing oil to not get to the top of the engine effectively!!! Major damage meaning I had to sell the car for less than half it's market value. I made a complaint and the mechanics denied even saying it needed the engine head removing!!! I have been told by the area manager nick that I didn't give them the opportunity to look at the car or take it to a garage of their approval instead I took it to a garage I trust so now I'm in the wrong!!! AVOID THIS GARAGE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Was it the one by Tesco? Just down from The Range?0

I've had tyres fitted at Formula 1, I don't think I'd let them do anything more complicated.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I wouldn't even let them touch the tyres again!
They also did the tracking and ended up knocking it so far off my dash lit up like a Christmas tree!0 -
They usually try to get you for allegedly worn brake discs and allegedly leaking wheel cylinders.0

So rather than let them fix it you sold a car for half its market value? Why?
You have a garage you trust yet decided to take the car elsewhere to have work done to it? Why?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
How did they damage the sump by doing a cam belt and water pump in the first place?0

That's the one!!0

They jacked the car up and damaged the sump. I took the car there as I live in Shrewsbury then took it for a second opinion to a garage in stoke that I always used to use. The car has to be sold because of engine damage that I couldn't afford to fix I had no car for work so had no option but to sell it and I'm in an on going battle with formula one to try and recover some of the costs but I'm getting no where with them all I keep getting is that I shouldn't have taken it to another garage even though I took it back to formula one 1st and they had it for 4 days and diagnosed a fault that wasn't there!0

You sold a car they would have repaired (eventually)?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
