Hi,
I bought a Dell Inspiron 1501 a while back and I seem to remember you can only change the DVD region a few times before you cant change it any more !
I now have a mixture of DVD Regions DVDs and wondered if there this some way to make the laptop DVD play any region (Is that 0 region ?) or make it so there is no limit to the number of times I can change the region setting ?
Thanks

You could alter the drive using a firmware flash so that it will always be region free....

hi mjr600 I dont really understand what you mean by 'firmware flash' can you explain.
I went to the link and it seemed to imply it a trail ! I need to make sure this Will not do any damage to my laptop..so have you used this software ?
How do you know the make name of your CD/DVD player in your laptop ?
I have found that mine is Toshiba MK1237GSX ATA Device
TSST Corp DVD+-RW TS-L632D ATA Device
I am running Vista if that makes any difference."The time is always right to do what is right"0 -
Hi
I also have a Dell 1501 laptop and the simple answer that I found was that you can't amend the DVD player to make it region free.
Instead after searching this forum I found Anydvd which is a free trial for 21 days and does work very easily. You have to pay afterwards but apparently it is the easiest and well regarded program.
Give it a go by searching on Google for the link.0 -
You can google "DVD Region killer", its freeware and should work fine.0
