Florida Rentals March 2019

We normally stay in hotels on the Gulf Coast around Sarasota, Sanibel, Venice, Lido Key, etc in March for a couple of weeks. We thought we may like a change and rent somewhere next year, 2019.
Would appreciate advice on the best way to find a decent rental property at a good price. What are the best Websites to look at? How to spot any scams.
Prefer a Villa/house although a decent apartment not out of question. Only two of us so do not require a mansion but do like a bit of space.
Thanks

I use VRBO for Florida gulf coast rentals. Also, Gulfcoastrentals.com. We have stayed on Captiva, Sanibel, Marco Island and Anna Maria Island. Never had a bad stay, but the restaurants on AMI are more expensive than the other islands.

I think you'll find March is quite busy. We always go October/November time.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Yes, March is 'snowbird season' many places will be booked up as they leave each year.0

I know it is in their high season as we have been going in late February or March for the past 7 or 8 years. Would like to keep accommodation budget in the £2.5 -£3k Range if possible.0
