Hi
A question re insulating shed please.
Planning to use insulation foam boards on walls and roof and then board over with some ply. Question is, do I need a breather membrane or any other similar things?

What are you going to use it for?Officially in a clique of idiots0

ideally you would install the insulation in such a manner that a clear air gap is maintained between the external face of the insulation and inside face of the timber cladding. This ensures that any moisture which can and will make its way through the board joints can dry adequately. Foil faced insulation in this situation will omit the requirement for any breather membrane.0

Thanks for your reply. It is for general storage (clothes, bits and bobs) and to keep a freezer and dryer. It is a large shed at 16 x 8 ft.0 -
I wondered if it was animals as we kept our rabbits in an insulated shed.Officially in a clique of idiots0

OTOH, would a breather membrane be of great advantage, if you are not spending much time in the outbuilding and just using it as storage space for 'dry' items?
Someone else might offer a better guide on that than I can.0
