barclaycard has an internal scoring system basis your account performance like repayments, debt ratio, etc.

If your score is not high then you may not get an offer

However recently they are offering BT at the purchase rate of your card. Ring them coz its an internal offer.
That doesn't explain why offers have dried up in last 6+ months when people were always getting regular offers.

There is no obligation for them to serve offers, it does not form part of the credit agreement you signed with them upon approval.

That being said, there are numerous factors that contribute the distribution of offers. This includes, but is not limited to; internal credit scoring, information from CRAs, account usage data, target financial demographic and past offer history.

You can call them to query this, however if the system has not allocated one automatically, it is unlikely they will be able to generate one manually. This does not include appeasements during a request for account closure or a valid complaint. I recommend waiting for a few months, as offers may start to return frequently.

  • They have also stopped increasing credit limits the way they used to provide in the past. This seems like Barclays is not so keen in investing in credit card anymore. One more reason why you do not see 0% balance or money transfer offers is because Barclays do not wish to take liability of other cards onto Barclaycard for just a mere transfer fee of 2-3% which is worth nothing in today's world. You can still find 6.9% and purchase rate BT.

You are basing that on your own experience. Even if you are not witnessing increases on your own account, this does not demonstrate a cutback on a wider scale.

Some customers are less prone to increases for a number of reasons. Others can be showered with them, especially those with an impeccable credit file and a low but active utilization of the facilities.

I believe Barclays are still thriving in the credit card market and don't have plans to drawback on a wider scale in the near future.

  • Im not talking about my experience, i have read posts about limit increases.

I would still stick to the below:
