Taylor wimpey options

Hi guys
Me and my OH have just bought our first house (Taylor wimpey) together. My question is has anybody went with any of there upgrades or anything from their options catalogue you receive? Is their anything you’ve got done that you think would have been just easy to do on your own with less money spent?
Thinking of things such as wodrobes, crome switches throughout, flooring and the tv options to install wiring for sky/virgin etc
Thanks !!!128522;

Most things can be done at around 1/2 to 1/3 the cost that the builder will charge.
Depends how handy you are, how much you value your time/money and how bothered you can be with !!!8220;hassle!!!8221; once you!!!8217;ve got the keys.0 -
It's usually far cheaper to do everything yourself with one exception - get them to add any additional wiring/sockets that you want because this is much harder to do once the internal walls are plastered.0

We went with everything but the fitted wardrobes, as they were a bit ott for the price! I would definitely recommend the electric shower upgrade, if applicable, as the standard one just looks cheap and nasty! the Aqualisa is really nice.
Flooring we upgraded to have the enhanced underlay on the carpet, and ceramic tile throughout everywhere else (not vinyl) which again we feel is worth while, and the kitchen upgrade for us was a no brainer!0 -
No experience with TW but would always suggest upgrading the flooring. Our first house was already complete so we couldn!!!8217;t choose the flooring so we were stuck with the basic carpet and it!!!8217;s not been fun!0
