The Driver may have typed in the VRN incorrectly such that the it did not match that on the ANPR system.

0 instead of O, I instead of 1, or even missing out a digit would have done this. People with two cars often enter the VRN of the one they drive most often which may not be the one they were using on the day.

  • Fair point Fruitcake, although I'm certain that wasn't the case for the driver as it works on an auto-text system and the third digit didn't appear.

    Correct.

The sentence after "Hertfordshire" needs to go.

Definitely complain to Starbags, and your MP about this unregulated scam

  • Hi guys,

Thank you for your help - I only mentioned those details to give you a bit of background.
  • Right - I've just resent my appeal, using the one in the FAQ. Thank you again!

This is who you're up against!

    It is Observational Parking Consultancy.
It's not actually. Do a double check.

Some people just never bother to come back to update the forum. Not the way to acknowledge the help given to them voluntarily by complete strangers.

Not unusual, maybe it will improve after Brexit!

    Hi everyone,

I can happily confirm that both appeals were successful without the need for POPLA to intervene. Ended up speaking to a member of staff at the Starbucks in question, who told me they were aware of the problem and made sure other cases were settled.

Needless to say I'm no longer risking a trip there...

    Thank you all!
