I have been a Gold account holder for a few years but don't use the so-called benefits (AA, travel insurance).
Can I revert back to a normal account - is it cheaper? Anyone know - the bank seem intent on me getting a platinum account as they post me a form to fill in every two weeks (for five years!).

A 'normal' account, like the Classic or Classic Plus, http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_accounts/classic_and_classic_plus_accounts.asp is free. Just tell them you want to downgrade (you may be able to do it online but I suspect they make it easier to upgrade than to downgrade. Can't think why.....).0

Maybe a little too late.....
buuuuuuuuuuuuut...
ring 0845 3000 000 and ask to be put through to the added value downgrades team. You'll get the usual ;what reason etc, but stand your gorund and you'll be back to Classic in no time
