where can i payin my US dollars cheque?

i have been sent a cheque from america for $36, but when i went to pay it in at my UK bank, the nationwide, the said there would be a £20 fee for this and the form would take 8 weeks to arrive before i could do this.

i think this is disgusting, the cheque is only woth about £18 anyway,

does anyone know anywher i can cash this cheque, would a foriegn exchange place where you get currency be able to help me.

i dont mind paying a small fee,

the cheque is from a poker site that i am a member of and was sent to me when i made a withdrawal from my account

I would use somewhere like http://auctionchex.com/ - its very popular with people who use ebay etc..

Any bank is likely to charge you at least £10 to cash it in and as the cheque is only worth around £18, that doesn't make much sense.
